100% Waterproof Tanked Wetrooms. Backed by a 10-year written no-leak warranty.

Walk-in wetrooms and complete bathroom refits across Carlisle, Wetheral, Dalston, Brampton, Penrith and Keswick. 1. 01 · Before

    1990s high-step acrylic bath

A shower over a high-sided tub: a tall step in and out, every single day.

  2. 02 · After

    Flush zero-threshold walk-in wetroom

Floor dropped between the joists so the tiles meet the landing at 0mm. No tray, no lip, no step.

Working days from strip-out to handover, with a 24-hour flood test before a single tile went down.

Labour, materials and waste removal included. Every bag of rubble gone the same afternoon.

02 — What's behind the tiles

What keeps the water in your shower and out of your ceiling.

In plain English: we build a waterproof layer under and behind your tiles, then flood it for 24 hours before tiling. Tap a layer to see what it does for you. The drawings are for anyone who likes the detail.

Drawing 1 of 2 · the wetroom floor

Five layers that keep water in the shower and out of your ceiling

Section A–A: cross-section of a level-access wetroom floor from timber joists and 22mm WBP ply, through a 1:60 fall former, Schlüter-KERDI-200 membrane and brushed brass linear drain, to 600×600mm R11 porcelain finishing flush with the landing

Layer 01 · A solid floor

A floor that won't flex or crack your tiles

On a timber upstairs floor we drop the deck between the joists, reinforce them, then screw down 22mm WBP marine ply. That is what lets the finished tiles meet the landing flush.

Why ordinary tiled bathrooms leak, and what we build instead

Section B–B: wall-to-floor junction compared side by side. Left, tiles on untanked plasterboard failing through a grout crack, moisture, mould and rotted joists. Right, waterproof backer board, Schlüter-KERDI-200 membrane, sealed corners and a 1:60 fall to a linear drain

Layer 01 · Wall board

Walls that can't go soft behind the tiles

Ordinary build

Tiles fixed straight to raw or skimmed plasterboard. Once water gets behind the grout, the gypsum softens and the tiles start to come away.

What we build

12.5mm waterproof tile backer board with an XPS core. No gypsum behind the tiles, so nothing there can soften or rot.

04 — How long it takes

A typical wetroom, day by day.

The same two people on site from strip-out to silicone. You get the start date in writing, and each stage is checked before the next one begins.

  1. Days 1–2

    Strip-out & First Fix

Dust sheets from your front door to the bathroom. The old suite, tiles and boards come out and the rubble leaves the same day. Then soldered copper and Speedfit first fix, clipped and pressure-tested.

  2. Days 3–4

    Waterproofing & 24-Hour Flood Test

Floor dropped between the joists, 22mm WBP ply down and the 1:60 former set by laser. The KERDI-200 membrane goes across the floor and up the walls, then a 24-hour flood test.

  3. Days 5–7

    Large-Format Porcelain Tiling

600×600mm R11 porcelain on a solid bed of flexible adhesive, grout lines laser-levelled and the linear drain set flush with the floor.

  4. Days 8–10

Fitting the Suite, Lighting & Handover

WC, vanity, glass screen and brassware fitted. Extractor and lighting wired by our Part P-registered electrician. Silicone, a final pressure test and your handover folder.

Walk-in wetroom

“Mark and Ryan ripped out our tired 1990s bathroom in Stanwix (CA3) and built a walk-in wetroom for my mum. They tanked the entire floor and walls, laid non-slip porcelain tiles, and took every bag of rubble away the same afternoon. Spotless work.”

Shower repair

“Our Mira digital shower died on a Sunday afternoon. The phone was answered straight away, we got a text confirmation within seconds, and Mark arrived Monday morning in Dalston with the exact valve cartridge on his van. Fixed in 45 minutes for the exact £115 quoted.”

07 — Wetroom questions

Before you book a survey.

Something else? Call 01228 587 745.

Will a wetroom leak into the room below?

Not when it's built in the right order. Every wetroom is fully Schlüter-tanked and flood-tested for 24 hours before a single tile goes down.

Can you fit a wetroom on a timber upstairs floor?

Yes. We drop the floor between the joists for flush access, reinforce them, overlay 22mm WBP marine ply, then fit a Schlüter former with a 1:60 fall.

How long does a wetroom or bathroom take?

A cloakroom or en-suite refresh takes 4–5 working days, a complete family bathroom 7–10, and a bespoke level-access wetroom 9–12. The Stanwix wetroom took 9.

What does the 10-year no-leak warranty cover?

It covers the waterproof layer behind your tiles: the Schlüter-KERDI boards, membrane, sealed corners and drain connection. It comes with every Schlüter-tanked wetroom and shower zone, and the certificate goes in your handover folder.

Do I need to hire a skip?

No. We remove all old baths, tiles and rubble ourselves, usually the same day it comes out.
